On Wednesday 27 April, the Mostyn and Postlethwaite families set off from London to tackle the incredible 286 mile cycle to Amsterdam, raising much needed funds and awareness for Parkinson’s.

They plan to complete their journey in just four days, covering an average of 71.5 miles each day!

Each family has been impacted by Parkinson’s; Sir Nicholas Mostyn, a High Court judge, was diagnosed with the condition in 2020, and the Postlethwaite family recently lost their step-father, who had Parkinson’s.

The families are raising funds for Cure Parkinson’s and PDNMG.

Both families are raising money for Parkinson’s causes as each has experienced the effect of the disease close at hand. The Postlethwaite children lost their step-father last autumn. I myself was diagnosed with the condition 18 months ago.

We have set up two separate, but linked, Just Giving pages for Cure Parkinson’s and PDNMG… I do not need to spell out how crucial the research is of the former,  and how necessary the teaching is of the latter.

Sir Nicholas Mostyn

The team has been doing spectacularly well with their fundraising, having raised over £54,000 for Cure Parkinson’s and PDNMG so far! All at Cure Parkinson’s would like to thank both families for their fantastic support.
