Raid Local is back for a third outing, and this time…it’s royal! Join us as we cycle 70 miles for 70 years this June in celebration of Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
Since 2020, over 1,000 riders from across the globe have taken to their local hills or hopped on the cycling app Zwift to cover miles of road and ascent to help us find a cure for Parkinson’s. Collectively, they have helped to raise an astonishing £345,000 towards curative Parkinson’s research. All whilst raising some serious altitude in the process!
This year, we’re going the extra mile (or 70!) and raising our altitude in celebration of Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and we’d love it if you would join us.
The challenge: commit to cycling a distance of 70 miles (112.6km), in celebration of the number of years that Queen Elizabeth II has reigned, and climb an incredible 1,952m of vertical ascent to represent the year 1952, the year of The Queen’s coronation, on a road or mountain bike, or on a virtual app such as Zwift.
You can complete your challenge anywhere, anytime between 1 and 30 June.
By taking part, you’ll be raising funds to help discover treatments which have the potential to slow, stop, or reverse the devastating progression of Parkinson’s.
Get raiding in four easy steps:
- Choose a date and a route to suit you.
- Set up a JustGiving page and raise funds for a cure.
- Tell us where your challenge is and share with friends and family – they may even join in!
- Get your own Jubilee crown for finishing! If you’ve also raised over £70 before 1 June, we’ll send you an exclusive Raid Series jersey to wear during the challenge.
