What you’ll do as a Hope Council member

  • Review and improve research materials: helping to make research materials easy to understand by reviewing things like trial information and consent forms. Give feedback to ensure communication materials are clear and accessible to the Parkinson’s community.
  • Help shape clinical trials: Take part in focus groups to share your perspective and ensure trials address the real needs of people with Parkinson’s. Offer ideas to improve recruitment strategies so trials are more inclusive and accessible.
  • Be an advisor: Work with research committees to bring the voice of the Parkinson’s community into key decisions. Share your experiences and insights to make sure research priorities align with the needs of the community.
  • Engage and inspire: Use your story to show the impact of research and encourage others to take part in trials, surveys, and focus groups. Join events, webinars, or panels to connect with others and amplify the work of Cure Parkinson’s and the importance of participation in research.
  • Advocate for change: Support initiatives like Change the Future by advocating for policies that accelerate progress in Parkinson’s research and treatment.
  • Help improve the trial experience: Review trial results and help present them in ways that are accessible and meaningful for the Parkinson’s community. Advise on initiatives to ensure they reflect the real needs of people with Parkinson’s.
