Planting for a Cure
Pledge to leave a gift in your Will and one of the 500 trees in our Cure Parkinson’s legacy woodland will be dedicated to you or your loved one. Your pledge today will help us grow a brighter future for people living with Parkinson’s tomorrow.
We have been blown away by the creativity of our fundraisers who have gone above and beyond to support us over the last few years, especially after COVID hit nearly all of our fundraising events in 2020 and 2021!
One special fundraising initiative was started by Daisy Doyle, 13, who asked friends and family to sponsor a tree on the farm where she lives in Devon. Since the summer of 2020, she has planted well over 50 trees in this way.
Inspired by Daisy, we thought that planting something for future growth was akin to leaving a legacy to Cure Parkinson’s. Thus, Planting for a Cure was born.
We do hope you will be willing to commit to making this pledge to help create a growth fund to support our work into the future. When, not if, a cure is found, I can assure you that your gift will be put to very good use by the Cure Parkinson’s Trustees of the future!
Peter Berners-Price, Trustee and Chair of the Legacy Campaign
Planting for a Cure
The Planting for a Cure woodland has been kindly donated by the owners of Micklefield Hall in Sarratt, Hertfordshire. It is a dedicated area of 500 trees created to recognise the gifts made by legatees to Cure Parkinson’s and also in recognition of the Queen’s Green Canopy that celebrated her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022.
If you pledge to leave a legacy in your Will, a tree in the wood will be dedicated to you or your loved one. In addition, your name or theirs, will be inscribed on a tablet to be erected at the entrance to the wood.
Twice a year, we’ll be hosting open days at the wood. You and your family will be invited to see how your commitment is physically helping to change the landscape. Just as your commitment will help to change the landscape in the search for a cure for Parkinson’s.
How to pledge
If you have been kind enough to have included, or intend to include, Cure Parkinson’s in your Will, thank you. We would be very grateful if you could let us know by completing and returning your pledge form, even if you wish to remain anonymous. You do not need to commit a specific sum, that is for you and your family to decide privately.
Please return your completed pledge form to:
Brogan Fricker Senior Individual Giving Officer Freepost CURE PARKINSON’S
(There is no need to write anything else on the envelope or affix a stamp.)
In return for your individual pledge, you will receive a Pledge Certificate. This will confirm that a tree has been dedicated to you in the wood.
The form is not legally binding and you can change your mind at any time.
We are leaving no stone unturned to find cures for Parkinson’s. We hope that before the trees in our legacy wood have grown too many inches, we will be able share encouraging breakthroughs.
