Setting up your own walking challenge is an excellent way to raise money for and awareness of Cure Parkinson’s.

Let us know what you’re up to, and we’ll support you all the way. Whether there’s an iconic long walk you’ve always wanted to do, or you’re looking to increase the amount of steps you’re doing over a long period, organising your own walking challenge is an excellent way to raise money and awareness of Parkinson’s.

Ideas for your walking challenge

With travel severely affected by covid-19, now is the perfect time to take on an adventure around the UK by foot:

  • The Yorkshire Three Peaks
  • The Welsh 3,000s
  • The Jurassic Coast Path
  • The Hadrian’s Wall Path
  • The South Downs Way
  • The Cotswolds Way

Less conventional walking challenges

  • Aim for 10,000 steps a day or more – if you keep this up for 30 days, you would achieve 300,000 steps or 150 miles which is the same as walking from London to Manchester!

Supporter Joyce Cook (pictured below) took on the challenge of walking 10,000 steps each day for one month in April 2021 around her local village, starting on World Parkinson’s Day (11 April).
